how it started
It started because shopping local was annoying.
you'd find an incredible Canadian brand on Instagram, then spend twenty minutes figuring out whether they ship, how much, and when. multiply that by every maker you wanted to support.
so we put them all in one place. one cart, one shipping fee, one pickup window. the makers get shelf space they'd never afford on their own, and you get to stop opening seventeen tabs.
what we actually do
We check. Loudly.
"supporting local" is a sticker anyone can print. here's what it means here.
Canadian-owned, verified
every brand here is owned by Canadians. we ask for proof, and some brands don't make the cut.
We've met the makers
most of them in person. we know whose kitchen your hot sauce came out of.
Fair terms
small brands get paid properly and on time.
What we won't stock
dropship junk, white-label nothing, and anything a big box already sells cheaper.
who runs it
A small team who actually shop here.
the person who packs your order is the same person who chose to put that brand on the shelf. no buying department, no head office, no quarterly range review.
if something's wrong, you'll email us and get a human back, usually the same day, usually with an actual fix instead of a policy number. or walk into the shop and tell us in person. we'd honestly prefer it.
every product on this site has been unboxed, handled and argued about by someone on the team. if we wouldn't give it to a friend, it doesn't get a listing.
how we got here
A decade,
roughly.
2017
The Local Space starts. a stack of Canadian brands, a fairly stubborn opinion about big box retail, and the first shop in Langley a year later.
2020
Chilliwack opens. a second location on Yale Road, opened in the least convenient year retail has ever had. it's the one that stuck.
2025
Focus, on purpose. the Langley shop closes and everything goes into Chilliwack. fewer locations run properly beats more run thin. Langley still gets free weekly pickup.
Now
One shop, done properly. 250+ Canadian brands, 1,002 reviews, and same-day delivery across Chilliwack.
